Directed by Mohammad-Hassan Ferdowsizadeh, the documentary dubbed ‘Panjshanbeh Suri’ (Thursday Fireworks) was screened at Tehran’s Charsou Cineplex.

The doc was warmly received by the audiences and the fans of documentary cinema.

In the movie, interviews with colleagues of the firemen trapped in high-rise landmark Plasco building on January 19 have been conducted.

The collapse of the building claimed the lives of 16 firefighters and a number of citizens.

Organized by the Documentary and Experimental Film Center (DEFC), the 11th Cinema Verite is underway from Sunday through December 17 in Tehran.

The DEFC is the largest center for production, distribution and promotion of documentary, animated and experimental pictures in the Middle East.

The Cinema Verite aims, among others, to promote creative documentary and reinforce the link between documentary cinema and social facts and events.
